2015 Top Ten Disney Christmas Movies

The great tradition of settling down to a good Christmas movie is something that the whole family looks forward to. There are plenty of Disney movies that cater for this occasion and Iglu has selected the top 10 cream of the Disney crop for you to enjoy this Christmas season. 



Top 1. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas (1999)

A classic movie split into a three part anthology style feature. Pt 1: 'Donald Duck Stuck on Christmas' stars everyone’s favourite duck along with his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie as the day seems to repeat over and over again! Pt 2: 'A Very Goofy Christmas' joins Goofy as he tries to affirm his son’s belief in Santa Claus. Pt 3: 'Mickey & Minnie's Gift of The Magic' is somewhat of a moral and reflects the classic theme of selflessness over the Christmas period.

Top 2. The Santa Clause (1994)

Sitcom star Tim Allen makes his big screen debut as Scott Calvin, with this light-hearted, family friendly holiday comedy. A noise on the roof brings ‘Scott’ and his son outside, where they startle the intruder, who tumbles from the roof. It turns out that there is a Santa after all, and Scott has just accidentally killed him! What will happen now? This is another great choice for Christmas entertainment.

Top 3. Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas Special Edition (1997)

Will Belle be able to pull off the unthinkable and celebrate Christmas at the castle, even though The Beast has already forbidden it? You’ll have to watch to find out! The Enchanted Christmas is a wonderful continuation of Disney's acclaimed Oscar-winning Beauty and The Beast, which tells the untold chapter of the fateful Christmas where Belle stole the heart of the gruff Beast. Essential Christmas viewing guaranteed to bring the whole family together.

Top 4. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Enter an extraordinary world filled with magic and wonder. This story is a slightly darker movie which has been created to highlight the contrasting joy of the Christmas season. This movie is a perfect Christmas movie for slightly older children and adults. Join Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he yearns for something more than the same old tricks and treats and stumbles across the glorious magic of Christmas Town!

Top 5. The Muppet Christmas Carol: Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition (1992)


What Christmas movie top ten wouldn't be complete without a tribute to the timeless Charles Dickens master piece, A Christmas Carol?. In this twist on a classic, we join the famous Muppet characters as they act out all the morals of this tale. Michael Caine plays the old miser Scrooge with Kermit as his long-suffering but ever-hopeful employee Bob Cratchit.

Top 6. Winnie The Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year (2002)


We visit the Hundred Acre Wood in this festive story. Rabbit has a bout of the winter blues. Suddenly, Piglet has a spring in his step and a gleam in his eye, Pooh spends his day in terminal gloom, and Tigger has become as timid as a mouse. Soon, these drastic changes help everyone understand the spirit of the season, and that sometimes the best way to change is to be your self. Share in the joy and magic of the holiday as Pooh and his lovable friends enjoy Christmas and the New Year.

Top 7. Ernest Saves Christmas (1988)

Here we join one of the zaniest characters in movie history, Jim Varney aka Ernest. Santa Claus has retired and has decided to pass on his magic bag of Christmas surprises to a new St Nick. He enlists the help of a range of characters including the wacky know-it-all Ernest. Along the way Santa and Ernest help a young boy to believe in the Christmas season again. What ensues is a wild, fun and magic adventure.

Top 8. How The Toys Saved Christmas (1997)

How the Toys Saved Christmas is a delightfully “toy-riffic” movie children of all ages will want to watch again and again. We join Granny Rose as she falls ill and asks Mr. Grimm to take over this most important job and deliver presents to all the children. However the toys hear of Mr Grimm’s plan to wait until morning and sell them to the highest bidder. What follows is danger and surprise as the toys try to get the presents to their rightful owners

Top 9. Favourite Stories: Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983)

A second entry into our top 10 list which retells the story of a mean and selfish character, who changes his way through being shown his past, present and future lives. Charles Dickens’s tale of Scrooge is, without doubt, done justice by the animation team over at Disney. Ebenezer Scrooge is characterised by Scrooge McDuck whilst Goofy plays the ghost of his partner Jacob Marley. Top 10. Recess Christmas: Miracle On Third Street (2001)

The Recess kids are at it again, as they convince the Third Street Elementary School teachers that miracles really do come true at this special time of year. when Principal Prickly's car gets stuck in a snowdrift, he and passengers Miss Finster and Miss Grotke reminisce about the good and bad aspects of their students. What follows are various clips from the successful TV show forming what is a great holiday movie.
