Run into a Solution Editing MP4 in FCP X

Though MP4 is a listed supported format by Final Cut Pro X, many people are still having problems of importing MP4 to FCP X. The following page will explain why as well as provide an easy solution on how to successfully use all kinds of MP4 files in FCP X.

Generally, we would like to use video editing programs like Final Cut Pro X to edit MP4 videos, including YouTube MP4 videos, iTunes MP4 videos, Sony XDCAM EX MP4 Camcorder videos, etc. in order to get better videos or more wonderful video files. However, FCP X might not work with some MP4 files, have a look at the related issue "can't import MP4 into Final Cut Pro X":

"My son and I have just downloaded the trial version of FCP X and am running into an import problem.

All his videos are recorded in MP4 format on an SD card.

When we try to import the clips from the SD card, they appear in FCPX as a black clip with audio only.

I've looked around online and it seems that some other people are having the same issue and are saying that  you have to buy a converter software.

It seems to me that -- for $300 -- this software ought to be able to handle the most common video format that exists.

A.  What am I missing?

B.  How can I resolve this?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!
